The Round Table strives to create one voice to meet the interest and needs of the design/construction community. CIRT supports its members by actively representing the industry on public policy issues, by improving the image and presence of its leading members, and by providing a forum for enhancing and developing strong management approaches through networking and peer interaction.

Purpose and Objectives

"To improve the performance of the U.S. construction industry" as well as "the management and effectiveness of companies within the industry" was the purpose for the Construction Industry Round Table (CIRT) being incorporated in Commonwealth of Virginia as an IRC 501(c)(6) not-for-profit trade association on April 1, 1998.

The mission of the CIRT is "to be a force for positive change in the construction industry while helping members to improve the management performance of their individual companies."

The organization’s Strategic Plan offers four major objectives to achieve this mission:

• Objective 1: Influence public policy to free the creativity and resources of our industry to competitively provide efficient and valuable services.
• Objective 2: Improve the industry’s image and relationships with public and private clients.
• Objective 3: Provide a forum for networking and education of members.
• Objective 4: Champion industry improvements.
