The latest CIRT Sentiment Index Report has been released, reflecting critical trends that haven’t been seen in five years. The design segment of the index has consistently led the trend line or forecast—rising in expanding markets and declining in those expected to contract. However, the 1stQtr./2025 Report found the overall CIRT Sentiment Index increased to 67.9 reflecting optimism; while the Design Index fell to 61.8. The last time the Design Index and Sentiment Index diverged or crossed trend lines was during the economic turbulence of COVID-19 five years ago. Something to keep an eye on during the remainder of this year.
The report also addressed “current issues” and measures affecting the operations of CIRT member firms, focusing on their backlogs, capacity and hiring goals, procurement, delivery methods, selection criteria as well as top challenges expected in 2025.
